Three Ways to Maximize Study Time

School is in full swing and with midterms upon many students it is important to stay focused and make the most of your time studying. Here are three tips on how to maximize your time while hitting the books:

1. Find a planner you love and use it: nothing hurts the first 30 minutes of studying like trying to figure out what actually needs to be done and whether or not you have the right materials to complete your assignments.

2. Stop studying with friends who will distract you: you could add hours to your studying time just by chatting with your friends while doing your work. This may not be true for everyone, but most of the time the best strategy is to separate yourself and go to a quiet area of the library to get work done efficiently. This way you can have unrestricted, quality time with your friends after you finish your work, and yoru won’t have to whisper.

3. Use some form of social media blocker: I use SelfControl for Mac computers and I can honestly say that it saves me so much wasted time of pointlessly checking Facebook and Instagram just because I am bored. I also suggest Stay Focusd on Google Chrome.

Give these tips a try and let us know what you think! What is your favorite way to stay on task?
