Trendy clothes, tasty cocktails and vibing tunes? Yes, please! There was a dynamic energy in the air last Thursday night that could only be found at a Memphis Fashion Week event. Madewell, a brand known for fabulous denim and chic clothes suited for all ages, hosted an event benefiting the Memphis Fashion Fund, a grant program that works to support local designers and artists in the fashion industry.

Designers selected by the Emerging Memphis Designer Project, a program supported by the Memphis Fashion Fund, attended the event to kick off the weekend, enjoy some cocktails and of course, shop! One of the emerging designers, Clara Seigler, a sophomore at Rhodes College, had two of her designs on display in the store creating lots of buzz and anticipation for the coming weekend.

People were not discouraged from attending the event, despite the thunderstorm that loomed overhead. Everyone was treated to custom cocktails from Alchemy throughout the night, including a “Bourbon Whisky Smash” and an “Oh Clementine” made with Svedka Clementine vodka. DJ Coolly, who also played at the runway shows over the weekend, provided a fantastic mix of music throughout the night. Bravo to Madewell for hosting a sensational event benefiting the Memphis Fashion Fund!
